Medical
resources to he adjusted
The adjustment plan of Chengdu’s medical resources in the future 15 years has been
made recently and is to be submitted for final approval. According to the plan, some hospitals in the urban areas will be relocated or reconstructed to serve demands of more needed suburban or rural areas and a group of more needed suburban or rural areas and a group of smaller medical
treatment centers will be set up to proved basic health care for the people. In the future, diagnosis of common and minor illnesses can be done in community medical centers and treatment of serious diseases will be given in big comprehensive hospitals. The measures mean to solve problems of unbalanced distribution of medical
resources in urban and suburban/rural areas and now are open for opinion soliciting from the public.
