Insurance Co., Ltd. (Manulife-Sionochem), China's
first joint venture in the field of life
insurance, inaugurated its Sichuan
subsidiary in Chengdu aiming to offer welfare plans for local citizens. Manulife-Sionochem was co-founded by Canadian Manulife Life Insurance Co. Ltd. and China Foreign Economic and Trade Trust Investment Co. Ltd. Canadian Manulife Life Insurance established the Chengdu representative office 13 years ago. Through the years the company witnessed the city's rapid development and expects that the new Sichuan subsidiary will make the best use of the city's burgeoning life insurance market.
