DYLAN, the death of an angel. The
trial of horror is currently underway; Dylan, aged 4, died as a result of abuse at the hands of his mother's partner. As the mother of a 9 year-old boy, I can't understand how "two barbaric beings" could kill a
child slowly and painfully...Dylan knew only suffering, hunger, solitude, hopelessness, everything that a child should never have to feel. Over 4 months, he was subject to humiliations that even an adult could not endure...How could it have happened? No one paid attention to what was going on; a
suffering child makes itself heard. Have we become deaf and blind to a person's distress? We should all be standing trial, for the increasing sense of indifference in the world. How many
children cry and aren't heard? How many children cry in pain and are ignored? I ask of everyone who has a child to love and cherish them as much as possible. Never
forget the suffering that Dylan had to
endure because of the barbarity of two beings whom I will never even class as human. Never forget how easy it can be to destroy something so fragile...So many values have been lost in our time. A child is the most precious thing that we could have, their smile, their eyes, a pure moment of happiness...Farewell Dylan, now you are with the angels, may love and tenderness be with you...
