DO YOU HAVE A GOAL IN LIFE? The word goal is often related to victorious moments in a soccer game when the ball is worked into the goal net by a team.Before the ball gets to its destination of the goal net, it is played in unison by one team using tactics,stamina and skills.When the efforts of the team finally pays of in a goal being scored, they have every right to be happy and work hard to protect that goal advantage while pressing for more goals. From this analogy, we can deduce that to have
happiness in life,we must achieve the goals we set for ourselves.True happiness comes to those who set goals and achieve them.If this is the source of true happiness,then it means we must all have goals if we want to be happy.Just having a goal is not a guarantee for true happiness until you achieve it.How can a goal be achieved? One may ask.Just by working hardn using the necessary tools being determination,perseverance and prayer. Anyone in school is expected to have a goal of belonging to a particular profession in life one day.To be able to achieve this goal, the student is expected to take studies seriously,make sure to pass all tests and examinations,dissociate from friends whose influence can deter him/her from achieving the set goals and associate with friends who can help achieve the goals.It is such a pity these days how many of our
students are in school just for the sake of it.For most students school is just a place to make new friends and exercise their youthful exuberance.While a certain category of students are always studying and showing absolute dedication to their books,another category spend their time discussing irrelevant issues like entertainment,soccer,parties,girlfriends and boyfriends.Some even claim to have found their God-given talents in rap and dance and as such form groups performing at various places.It is true some of these claims may be true but lets stop and ask ourselves how many of these people succeed in this venture. Also most students spend their time planning flashy parties and spending on expensive clothing than they respectively do in studying and saving to buy more books.Where is the focus of the youth? When you cast your eyes around these days, you wil realise that the nation is being littered with SSS graduates who have graduated with no goal whatsoever.These people blind to the fact that they still have their whole lives ahead of them continue to wallow in mediocrity thinking life is easy.When some of them realise they cannot solely depend on parental support for their upkeep, that is when their eyes are opened to the harsh realities of life.Worse still when they get pregnant or get others pregnant as in with girls and boys respectively. Becareful anyone in school and keep in mind that goals are as essential to success and happiness in life as air is to life.You must form an image now of the person you want to be ten years from now if you are to become that person.Realise the fact that to be an accountant, you must have goal of becoming an accountant and work hard to attain that goal.Avoid all friends whose influence will distact you from achieving your goals.
