FOOD
VENDORS Some food vendors who sell food on table tops display the uncovered cooked food near unhygienic places
especially gutters or they do not clean where they operate. These pose as threat to the health of those who consume the food.
At times the saucepans and the wares in which the foods are displayed are not well cleaned. Some are well done others not.
The water used in washing the hands after eating should be changed often but some do not bother to change it till the customers themselves complain. All these are threat to the human body and it must be checked.
To the kenkey sellers too, the way they handle the soaking of the corn before it reaches its final stage to prepare kenkey is mostly appalling. The pan in which the corn is soaked must be washed thoroughly because the scent affects the kenkey.
The Environmental Department should visit these
vendors and advise them on evironemental hygiene and also to encourage them to go for medical check up. To ensure this
exercise the vendors and their assistants must be given certificate to that effect. Also those who refuse to take the exercise should be ban from operating.
