THE GOD OF ALL RELIGIONS
The universe of endless and infinite forms is pervaded by KRISHNA the god of the hindus –yet this
form of the god t is invisible to the ordinary
eyes and incomprehensible to the ordinary intellect. This most exciting form can be observed only inwardly with the eyes of intent faith and highest plains of knowledge. This then is the crux of
hindu philosophy on inner-vision. Does this phelosophy of divine
vision have any parallels in other religions? Let us see what
JESUS CHRIST said to his followers, “I am the
light of the universe. Those who follow me see the light of life with out having to walk through darkness – of life (
Yoha 8:12). ALLAH, the
loving god of the Muslims, formless and infinitive in nature, is represented by the light of many suns and the devotees perceive him in their inner vision. To enjoy his radient presence they all close their and focus their mind and body towards him.. When we close our eyes and meditate upon our respective gods we all experience the one and the only one radiant energy, not that of a
Hindu god, or a
Christian god or a
Muslim god but the affectionate presence of the one and the only one loving god of all the living things of the universe. This then is the essence of all religions - taking the followers in persuit of the ultimate god of unparralled love and affection.
While addressing a religious gathering at Chennai recently, Mr. G. V. Sasthrigal the noted Hindu speritualist pointed out that devotion to god leads one to renounce worldly gains that are recognized as worthless. He quoted the relevant extracts from the Bhagavad-Gita; in which KRISHNA reveal the philosophic truths of existence to his dearest disciple Arjuna. The lord declared that he is the incarnation of the all-pervading, omniscient and omnipotent Supreme Being. The lord then reveals to Arjuna, his true incredible form that was a literal depiction of his all-inclusive supremacy. Though Arjuna is the greatest warrior of all times, cosmic vision of the god almighty bewildered him and made him shiver out of unexplainable feelings of reverence to the lord. The GOD then declared to Arjuna “By my grace, through my divine power, I have shown you this unique form of mine which none can see. The unique form of mine that you have seen is difficult to behold. Even the celestials are longing to see it. Neither by studying the Vedas nor performing penace, nor practicing severe austerities, nor by giving gifts can this form of mine be seen by any one” The cosmic vision of the lord took Arjuna through the past, present and the future. Bewildered by the cosmic site of the universe Arjuna pleaded to the god to take his original form. The loving and merciful god did accordingly and entreated Arjuna not to be bewildered by the terrible form just unfolded before him.
