'MAXIM', INDIA'S FIRST MEN'S
MAGAZINE INFAMOUS(!!) IN INDIA NOW
India's first International Magazine, Maxim has become infamous with its obscene picture of Khushboo and a damaging caption about her.
Khushboo has not had time to recover from last year's controversy over her remarks on pre-marital sex when this one, provoked by Maxim has begun. Karthikeyan, Khushboo's lawyer said that a legal action would taken against the British publishers and editors of the Indian edition
It is heartening to hear that Khushboo is unwilling to let the concerned
people off the hook despite their repeated apologies and pleas to publish a rejoinder in the next issue. The irrevocable damage to her reputation in so far as she is a mother, wife and a
celebrity cannot be taken so lightly.
It is shameful that the launch of the magazine is accompanied by such controversies. To resort to such cheap gimmick for the sake of publicity is shocking and deserves no sympathy from the
public and Khushboo.
It is a chauvinistic attitude towards
women that is reflected by the men's magazine.It is callousness about women's image that has led to such behavior
Morphed or not, to publish pictures without the concerned person's permission is appaling-more so when it is celebrity like Khushboo.
Nobody seems to care about the trauma through which Khushboo's family, especially her husband and
children will be subjected to. After all , we all live in this society-celebrity or not, it would be so embarassing for her children when questioned by snoopy people or for that matter , even by people who care. The delicate position of Khushboo and her family is one to be empathized and not mocked at.
The least that the public can do is to boycott such magazines-to discourage such cheap sensationalism is our prime duty, being part of the so-called civilized society.
