CHILD ABUSE-DEGENERATION OF SOCIETY
Taj Coromandel , Nungambakkam, has become notorious after the horrifying
incident
of the molestation of eight year old girlon 16th January, by Dinesh, 25, a man working in the housekeeping department of the hotel.
Heart bleeds to even decribe the
incident- The girl had gone to the hotel as part of their family outing on 'Kanam Pongal' day. She went to the gents' toilet with her
brother (almost same age) and did not return to the table. When only her brother returned, her uncle searched for her- he found the culprit red- handed. Despite the man's false claims of his helping the girl who had fallen into the toilet, the issue was taken up with the management and the police. Later the man was arrested. But the incident is a warning bell to all of us to awake to the rude fact that we are living among perverted people- it is our duty to protect our children from such sadists.
We can educate our children in defending themselves in such situations:
Treat your child like a friend enabling him/her to confide in you-it is possible, there are such caring parents among us.
Trust your child completely-the accused could be your near and dear.
Teach your child to differntiate between a bad touch and a good touch right from a very tender age.
Tell them that the tuition classes of subjects, dance, computer-are all likely places of such events.
