Humphrey dies.
AP reports from London that Humphrey, the cat, who stayed
at 10 Downing Street during the tenures of two successive
British Prime Ministers
died at the age of about 18. He
died at the home of a
civil servant who adopted him when
the current incumbent of 10, Downing Street evicted him.
The Black and white stray just walked into Downing Street
in 1989 during the tenure of Margaret Thatcher. The
cat was
named Humphrey in honour of Sir Humphrey Appleby, the
irresistible civil servant in the comedy TV serial “Yes
Minister.”
