This refers to the news report ‘More equal than others’ (The Sunday Indian November 4 2007), made

a surprising reading. It’s really surprising to read some well known and unexpected senior leaders names in the due list. How unfortunate that even two Ex. Prime Minister’s names too are found in the list. How such leaders can expect the common man to pay the tax in time. How such leaders can lead the nation without guilt. What lessons these leaders are leaving behind to their followers, it resemble to teach them to loot the nation once in power. NDMC’s dual standard in collecting the due is very condemnable. All citizens of India (however powerful and mighty he or she may be) should be a law-abiding citizen. RTI activist Subodh Jain’s initiative to bring out this fact to the public is commendable. Well done Subodoh. Immediate action should be taken to collect these dues with interest and fine. It’s also very interesting to note the ‘wonderful unity’ of our so called Nethas, at least in one point that is in ‘evading the tax.
