Apropos the write-up ''Musings'' Out of this world, (The Sunday Indian Weekly December 2, 2007), Prof. Mohammed
Yunus and his Grameen Bank made a remarkable history among the rural women in Bangladesh. His total commitment and determination made the venture possible to make a dignified living among the poor women. Thousands of them are now enjoying the fruits
of their labour due to the encouraging support of Prof. Yunus and his
team. As Mr. Prasoon Majumdar said, ''the iconic living example of
Grameen Banks sensible tapping will help the rural poor to eke out a
little more comfortable life. This is a good example to follow. Why
can''t we adopt such lending system among the rural poor in India? As
the writer said if our politicians think like Yunus we can expect a
tremendous transformation in the life style of the rural poor in
India. Will the authorities look into this angle for the comfortable
living of the millions of poor in the rural sector?
