WOMEN WILLING TO TALK ABOUT SEX
Sex has generally been a taboo for men, and more so for
WOMEN. However, there is more openness now and people including women, are more freely discussing such topics. This has been discussed in an article written by a well known Sexologist in the magazine, The Week of Dec 30, 07. With equality of sexes, women are becoming pro-active. Now women are taking initiative, for seeking the solutions for the
sexual problems of their husbands. Comparably, the number of cases in which couples are coming together, is increasing. The actions considered earlier as abnormal, are no more considered so. Especially women are now much more concerned about the
relationships, reading magazines and relevant literature and obtaining professional help. When there are reports of new treatments in media, the people enquire the Doctors about them. Besides the two problems generally observed in men, the people now talk of reduction of sexual
drive and frequency etc. Now the ageing people are also concerned about such problems, and need advice of the Sexologist. With more frank discussions on sexual matters and problems of the couples, people give references of the Sexologist to others. Information about sexual problems and treatments should be known to the people. In India, study of sex is not new. Kama sutra is famous. Lessons have been taken from texts like Charak Samhita and others. Some of the movies in Indian Cinema discuss and convey messages about various aspects of unhappy
marriages, and marital and other relationships. Introducing sex
education from the school stage is also under consideration. It is a fact that sex is central and essential to our life. We should understand it, and try to get a better future.
