BJP said Islamic foundamentalists are active in Northeast India
The BJP zonal secretary in
charge of Northeast V Satish who was in Imphal on a three-day visit to Manipur, said the international Islamic fundamental organizations sponsored by alien powers are spreading their tentacles in the Northeast.
The leader of BJP said his party will carry out anti-terrorism demonstrations throughout the country and appealed to the public join them to create awareness about the international forces inimical to India and active in the Northeast.
Expecting the general Assembly
election in Manipur to be preponed, the BJP in Manipur is gearing up for the election. Satish, the zonal
organizational secretary in charge of Northeast, said the party has activated membership drive and formation of primary committee, mandal committees is under way.
The BJP leader, who wound up his three-day organizational visit to Manipur, interacted with mediapersons. While condemning the 7/11 Mumbai blasts in the strongest terms, he cautioned the Central Government on the alarming growth of terrorist network across the country and the Northeast.
While taking a dig at the Congress-led SPF Govt in Manipur, the saffron leader said president rules should be imposed in the state given the deteriorating law & order situation and rampant corruption.
While answering a question on the BJP’s decision on the stand of the proscribed outfit KYKL against the existence of the party as long as Th. Chaoba remains in the party, the Northeast leader was caught off guard and chose to be diplomatic but cleverly hinted at things to come.
It maybe recalled that Th. Chaoba’s voluntary resignation from the presidentship of BJP Manipur Pradesh had not satisfied the KYKL who harbor deep grudges against the former president and is hell bent to politically assassinate him. Under the KYKL threat, the BJP had been effectively decimated in Manipur. Given the situation it would be interesting to see how long the BJP sticks to Th. Chaoba who is credited to strengthening the BJP in its formidable years in Manipur but has also proven detrimental to the party’s growth in Manipur.
