Appreciating
the response of delegation from 40 countries during the inaguaration of India
Soft 2005 at Chennai
Trade Centre , Nandambakkam Mr.Dayanidhi Maran Honourable Union Minister
for Communication and Information Technology said that Indiasoft should be a
platform for Indian IT players to showcase the talents to global markets.
In
his inaugural address he remarked, “Our goal in the ministry of communication
and information technology is to go beyond outsourcing and software development
for exports “ . He shared his vision of building several silicon valleys,
multiple Stanford universities, netpreneurs and many Indian billgates. HE
stressed that a revolution is incomplete without information technology. He was
also mentioning about the support received from the state governments with
regards to their share in IT spending. Mr.Maran also said that special efforts
were being taken to make Indian IT Professionals to learn Japanese language
given the fact that Japan is the second
largest Potential market in the globe.
He
conveyed his special regards to Japanese Minister , His Excellency Mr.H.E. Koza
Taka Hara Vice Minister for International affairs and Communication, Japan for having
consented to personally attend the event and leading a 27 Member delegation
from his nation.
The
Union Minister made a special reference to the 10 % reduction in taxes (from
the earlier 20%) in the budget He urged the government of Japan to follow the
same so that there is wider penetration of IT products and services in both
markets. Mr.Maran complimented the Ministers and Government of Japan for their
cooperation. During his earlier diplomatic visit to the nation he recalled the
discussions with them, which have now paved way for their arrival in “Indiasoft
2005” amidst large delegations.
His
Excellency H.E. Hozo Taka Hara the Vice Minister for International affairs
Ministry of International Affairs and Communication, Japan was all in
praise for MR.Dayanidhi Maran. Complimenting the laters Interest and Enthusiasm
the minister said that he could see a vision in him. He also recalled that this
was the vision of his father and Late Union Minister MR.Murosoli Maran who
played a vital role in India’s Trade
agreements with international countries .He wished fruitful Partnership between
the 2 nations.
Mr.Brijesh
Kumar , Secretary Department of Information Technology , Government of India
made a note of the large talented and trained manpower pool in India , the
phenomenal Human capital in the nation.
He gave the details and figures of the
accelerating annual growth of the industry, increase of the contribution to the
nations gross domestic product, domestic revenues, exports revenue exports at
25% per year for the past 5 years, improvement from 1.5% to 4 %, 4 billion us
dollars and 16.5 billion us dollars respectively. Besides he charted that the
expectations on these counts are, high and show an upward trend in the current
year.
He
pointed out that the requirements of attitudinal change and management of
change among Indian professionals. He also called for expansion of canters of
excellence thought the nation and mentioned that it will immensely help in cost
cutting and employment generation. He also wished that the existing cooperation
between the government of India and the
industry to continue.
Before
the concluding lines of his speech he quoted the words Philosopher Mr.William
Randolph Hearst “If you want to make the product good enough, even though you
live in the depths of the forest the public will make a path to your door”. He
said that a construction of a highway would attract larger Public.

Nambiar , Additional Secretary Department of Information technology Ministry of
Communication and Information Technology , Government of India explained the
unique feeatures of Statistical Year Book 2004 a publication of Electronics and
Computer Software Export Promotion the official host of the function. The
eighth Edition of the souvenir was also released by the Chief Guest of the day
MR.Dayanidhi Maran during the midst of the function.
