Newspaper Review by: Nayagan

SAVING JESUS BY BURNING CHILDREN
That title may sound bizarre. But strange are the ways of the supposed god's chosen
people.
The reference is to a news report of a Pastor burning school children with red hot rod. The incident happened on November 29, when Godfrey Noble, 36, who runs the Jesus Saves Trust in Iteri, near Reddiarpatti in Tirunelveli district, had branded five of the inmates of the hostel which has in all 16 inmates.
The victims bear marks of this act of cruelty in their hands and thighs. The boys were not given any medication till the police intervened on December 9.
Poor parents in Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari district send their children to the trust hostel which meets their expenses. All the inmates are studying in TDTA middle school in Kongathanparai.
Whatever be the children's mistakes, what the Jesus' man has done is cruelty against children and he needs to be punished.
India has probably the largest number of NGOs in the world, and Tamil Nadu has the largest number of them. In the name of the poor, social service, religion, and so on, they amass money, lead a five-star life, and indulge in all kinds of activities. In a country where the law is weak, the state is weak, and the weak are meek, NGOs are a law unto themselves.
Jesus and Mary, if they are anywhere, can save themselves. But who will save the poor from their vultures?
