TEAM WORK
HENRY FORD SAID,coming together is the beginning,keeping together is progress and working together is happiness.
Together Everyone Achieves More is how the word Team can be expanded.
Everyone is always in a team at home,college,factory,office etc.
Simple example is sports and games like cricket. Success originnates from the fact that eveyone is a memeber of the team and everyone should contribute to the success of the team.
Common Objective
All the members in a team have a common objective or goal which has to be achieved.They have to understand the goal clearly and accept the same.More importantly,everyone should understand it in the same way
RESPONSIBILITY Another important aspect is there should be a clear demarcation of
responsibilities to avoid overlapping and friction.Authority should go in tandem with responsibility.Team members should be honest and open minded so that there is mutual trust.Employees are expected to be loyal to the employers.
There should be a feeling of oneness and a sense of belonging and ownership.To foster this team mates are to be involved in team building activities and events.Having open communication outside office or work place will lead to long term relationship.
INVOLVEMENT
Involving all the team members in any decion making process will give everyone a feeling that he/she is recognised and his/her opinion is given importance.Keeping all communication channels always open gives access to full information and rumours are avoided.
LEADER
As part of the team, members are to be committed to the objective and should understand that individual contribution mattaes to the successful achievement of the team`s objective.Members requiring guidance,assistance should be provided with the same by other members of the team or the Leader.
Anyone who is knowledgeable should take the initiative of sharing the same with other members by exhibiting the right level of enthusiasm can volunteer to shoulder more responsibilities to the advantage of the team.Every memener is jointly and severally responsible to the team.
A team with many memebrs must necessarily have a Leader or Coordinator.,to lead the team.Such a member can lead by example.The leader can identify and assess talent levels of other members,and delegate responsibilities accordingly.Having done so should inateract with them guide them,monitor their work and motivate them to bring out the best from them.
A team with such a talented leader shaping and moulding the members as required will always succeed,wherever it is.Geogrophical boundaries,age qualification etc have no bearing in the team`s succes. A team should comprise of people with varying talents,skills,opinions
.
To sum up, let us understand a simple fact, as there is no letter "I" in the word team there shoukld not be any "i" in any team and it should only be WE.
