iPods via new channels.Apple has chalked out a new marketing strategy to expand its footprint in the Indian market by establishing its presence in tier-II and tier-III cities. In addition to the present sets of resellers, the company now plans to sell iPods at bookstalls, music stores and online portals. The new initiative to introduce iPods at lower levels (tier-II and tier-III cities) across the country apart from the ten cities including the four metros, at present, is to improve the Indian customers’ shopping experience. With nearly three thousand products at its command, the company is also planning to come up with a digital Lifestyle store in India. The company has introduced a new iPod with a feature of brighter and 2.5 inch color display with a thirty giga byte model priced at Rs.18,700/-. An eighty giga byte model which holds up to 20,000 songs costs Rs.23,600/- and a nano iPod model of four giga byte in silver, pink, blue and green are available for Rs.13,200/-. The new eight giga byte model in black would be available for Rs.16,400/-.
