THERE IS a Story that in the 19th century in Europe, scientists had a furious debate on God and decided to conduct a rather stark experiment.
A little
orphan boy was abandoned on a safe island for several years and covertly observed. One day they found that he was kneeling before the rising sun as it rose in all its glory. His eyes were shut and his hands were folded. The scientists brought the boy back to the 'real' world with the conclusion that faith in a creator was inexplicable.
Hindu mythology tells a pertinent tale of God having to prove 'His'existence.
There was little boy in a village once, Whose father died, leaving his wife and son to fend for themselves. Their needs were admittedly simple and the villagers lent a hand in tiling their small patchand contributing a handful of rice each month from each household.
The little boy was sent to school to the next village. The path lay through a jungle. He was fine going but afraid to come back through it when the shadows fell. Their house was set at a distance from others in their own village,so he could not easily join other children. The poor mother could not afford an escort for her child. So she woods. His name was 'Gopal'
Trustingly, the child did so and sure enough a bright faced boy with a peacock feather in his curls appeared and played with him all the way to the eadge of the jungle. One day, the little boy needed to take a gift to his teacher. There was nothing at home so Gopal gave him a small earthern pot of curds.
Embarrassed, he kept it shyly at his teacher's feet. But when they tried to empty the pot, it stayed full. A miracle?
The teacher refused to belive it. But the full pot was proof that 'someboday' had indeed helped the Little boY.
