Kashmir’s Choice: Career over Family
The time is changing very rapidly. The woman of contemporary society does not want to limit herself in the boundaries of her home only. She is not behind anyone, whether we talk about education or career, she is trying to fix her foot everywhere. But higher education is a must for her to choose a good career in future. She has recognized the worth of education. Now parents also seem to change their orthodox point of view about their daughters. They also want their daughters to be highly educated & then choose a good career to attain success in the life. Then why should Kashmir take a back seat in this important issue? The circumstances have changed in Kashmir also. Earlier the main focus was on the early-age-marriages of young girls. But now this orthodox thinking of parents has changed. They also want to see their daughters on some higher positions. High divorce rate & post-marital conflicts are some other factors of this gross change. The woman of Kashmir also wants to be independent like other parts of the country. She does not want to depend on her husband even after her marriage. Now parents also give importance to the education & career of girls at the time of fixing their marriages. Now the parents of groom also want their would-be daughter-in-law to be well educated & should be of career-oriented.
