Shekhar Guptha, Editor in Chief of The Indian Express writes about nuclear Indian summers (TNIE 12th Aug 2006). He has really hit the nail on its head. He says Pakistan for too long has been provoking India whenever political situation in India is weak. This means they always look for chances to put India under pressure. This is to test the flexibility of Indian system. Will our
internal security system be resilient enough to save the
country from any terrorist attacks when political situation in the country becomes a bit uncertain. This has been the pattern happening since past 50 years.
This is what has happened recently in the Blasts in Mumbai. It is no doubt master minded by Pakistan
To see whether Indian Internal security system will be competent enough to crack down on the culprits.
We cant change our neighbor and also we don’t have to be too soft on them and we don’t have accept everything , bear every
thing that they do.. Pakistan is epicenter of international terrorism, so staggering to see them playing around with the Indians and putting the lives of ordinary citizens at stake. Are we going to
believe the thought that these attacks on India
time and again are happening without the knowledge of the powers in Pakistan??, no innocuous person will believe this.
Bottom line is Pakistan is the most unreliable country for India. Let us not be in fool’s paradise and think that Pakistan is a good country with which we can negotiate and carry the
peace process forward and give peace to the subcontinent. This is a complete myth. We have still not forgotten the rhetoric Benazeer Bhutto shouting from Lahore’s center about a 1000 year war against India… their whole country was and still is obsessed with anti Indian psychology, may be a few of them are changed but they are a minority. The thing here to understand for India is that for Pakistan ‘Anti India’ slogan is the only life and it is the only existence but for India Pakistan is a menace and a bad neighbor. We have lots of other things to concentrate on. It is time we stop believing our ever disturbing neighbors and be very alert about our internal security.
