Airlines for serving him chicken pakoda during flight from Bangalore to Kuala Lumpu. During the flight while serving him the vegetable meals demanded by him he was served Chicken pakoda by the
Airlines crew. The incident took place during March 2003, when Sharma, a cargo agent for a computer company in India, was traveling to Kuala Lumpur for some official work. In Malayasian court
Magistrate M.Rajalingam upheld the claim of Arvind Sharma against the Airlines and ordered for compensation of Rs. 2 lakhs for damaging his feelings and also shock and mental agony faced by him. All the available evidence was verified and after investigation the charges against the Airlines proved to be correct. Arvind Sharma was Brahmin by caste and never had tested non-vegetable throughout his life. It was not only a question of his belief but also a reputation of his family was at stake for this irresponsible act of Airlines. The judgment pronounced by the magistrate was basically meant to restore the honor back to Arvind Sharma.
