Deaf and mute acted as film hero. We have seen a hindi film during seventies where the main characters
were deaf and dumb.But now a real life deaf and mute
person has acted in a Kannada movie, ‘Snehanjali’ as a normal person. This is probably the first of its kind in the history of 94-yeaers old film industry. 25 year old Dhruv, who was deaf and dumb by birth has done this unimaginable act convincingly in the silver screen. He has synchronized his lip and action so perfectly that it is difficult to believe the actor is really have impaired speech. Dhruv, being a son of businessman actor, Suresh Sharma was born and bought up in Bangalore. He had a strong determination to succeed in his life and also went to college for higher studies. But eventually he had leave his study as it was difficult for him to follow the lectures. But that did not deter him to loose his focus in his life. He completed few courses in computers and actively played cricket. He also represented India in world cup for deaf and dumb during 2005. He finally got interested in acting and expressed his desire to his
father, who was not ready to believe that it was ever possible. He asked him to forgo his ambition but Dhruv wasnot ready to give in so easily. Finally his father agreed s he was quite good looking and perhaps he could get through in the screen test based on his appearance. The film he acted had a lot of notable stars like Anant Nag and Anju Varma, who were astonished to find that their main leading hero was speech-impaired person. On the first day of shooting he was slightly nervous but gradually he picked up the tricks of the trade and everything became routine affair for him. His father himself being an actor was of great help to him, who used to explain him the scene a day before the shooting and prepare him for the final scene. Those who has seen the trailers of his film are totally floored and it was unbelievable that such a handicapped person could perform in a film where he has done few stunt scenes also all by himself. This is a great massage for disabled person of the world. Noted actor Om Puri was highly impressed with his performance and sent him his personal congratulatory massage.
