HEALING THROUGH FORGIVENESS
There are many real life situations in which friends, relatives and colleagues etc. take recourse to revenge, hatred and bloodshed etc. Times of India of Jun 13, 08 discusses this topic, in the context of forgiveness, which is a rare spiritual quality. It is a fact that forgiving is not an easy job. It needs lot of strength to forgive someone. One has to be compassionate to forgive. In our life, we face troublesome persons who hurt, damage or harm us, knowingly and intentionally, some time or the other or even more than once. Should we nurture a grouse against them, and wait for an opportunity to hit them back. In this way, we may or may not be able to get any benefit, except for the pleasure of creating unpleasant situations for the other persons. But for us, it creates problems for our peace of mind, clarity of thought and perception. There are many people who might have forgiven their boss, friend, spouse or relative etc., but they may not forget them. We may talk about such matters to others with bitterness. This means incomplete forgiveness and this leads to frustration and imbalance. Forgiveness is a therapy for peace of mind. It is a process of cleansing and purifying and it has a power of healing. In our daily prayer, we should seek forgiveness, give forgiveness and make life beautiful for everybody.
