It was a hard decision for the BCCI selection committee, but the decision is made and
Rahul Dravid is unceremoniously
thrown out of the Indian one-day cricket squad once again.
Now that
Virender Sehwag is back from the injury, the selectors have gone for the best team (on paper) by axing the veteran team man. What better prize one can get for top scoring in a loosing battle amidst failure of 10 other individuals?
Rahul Dravid can neither play helicopter shots nor he could whack the ball with monstrous power, but certainly he is a dependable cricket player in any corner of the world including India.
Are the doors shut forever? Rahul would certainly come back in to the team, not necessarily as a player and more certainly not to improve his tally of 10,765 runs, but again to self-witness his never-ending want for the game.
