Diet soda can damage your kidney
Kidney is a vital organ of the body with many important functions.
Its necessity has invariable significance for our survival healthily. Hence, kidneys must be taken care along with other vital organs without compromise.
Another aspect for good health is natural food.
Artificial food looks better and readily eatable making those lucrative to us. Many recent reports from various scientists have stressed this point that artificial food and supplements can do more harm than good to our body.
A research team of Brigham and women Hospital has stated the adverse effect of high sodium from some diet as well as artificial sweetened drinks on kidneys. Kidneys once damaged and non-functional become garbage and are of no use in the body.
Dr. Julie Lin is of the opinion from the study that kidney function deteriorated with high intake of sodium and sweetened soda. The study of high sodium intake and sweetened soda on animals showed the declining kidney function. From this, the researchers applied the same parameters on 3000 women, who had good kidney functions, and were given sweetened soda. The result on the women exhibited the same declining function of kidneys as was found in animals.
Dr. Lin carried out another study along with Dr. Gary Curhan on the same line gave almost the same results like the previous study.
With two or more sweetened soda servings per day is likely to lessen the kidney function. Other sweetened beverages would behave the same way is not confirmed by the researchers, Dr. Lin said.
The study result was disclosed in the annual meeting of American Society of Nephrology held at San Diego, California.
