Pak bans Feroze Khan's entry: The Times of India, May 19th 2006
President Parvez Musharraf has banned veteran Bollywod actor Feroze Khan from entering Pakistan after his reported remarks highlighting the comfort levels of Muslims in India in comparison to that in Pakistan.
My Views on it: Who is interested in seeing Feroze Khan in Pakistan, or as a matter of fact, in India too. At the most interest would lie in seeing his movies. It would have been better if President Musharraff had banned the movies featuring Feroze Khan in Pakistan. It would have made greater sense. Coming to the words spoken by the Khan, they were not untrue. For once what he said had some relation to truth besides having a good doze of common sense. He simply narrated his dialogues assuming that he was giving a shot in his own movie where-in the camera never hovers even to the surroundings. It were his dialogues, it was his screen presence, it was his mind that he spoke. The only difference was that the director of the show was different and he excercised his powers in editing not just the shot but the man himself. Indians are habitual blatant speakers and yes Feroze is definitely an Indian.Will Musharraf ban the lesser known Indians too for such similar utterances? This is not a million dollar question.
