What is the
best love age? It's when you are in your 50s. This is what lots of men are sure
about, at least looking at the
results of an international survey. Men with
slightly grey temples confirm they are more satisfied of their
sexual life now,
compare to when they were in their 30s of 40s. More content about their sexual
life are the 20 year old boys.
This research, published on the British Urologist
Association's Magazine "Bju Internationl", has been carried out by
Norwegian and American researchers on 1185 men from the age of 20 till the age
of 79, monitored under various aspects. Interviewed people had to rate on a
scale from 0 to 4 some of their sexual life characteristics. Researchers found
out in this way that even though the
reduction of the erection ability is due
to ageing, this doesn't seem to have any influence on the male
satisfaction in
bed. The situation seems to get worse only beyond the age of 60.
In general "the research shows a strong correlation between
ageing and the
sexual performances reduction - says Sophie Fossa from the Rikshospitalet Trust
in Oslo - but not between age and satisfaction. Our results illustrate that
even if men have more often problem in their sexual life when they grow old,
this doesn't necessarily lead to a minus satisfaction in their sexual
lives".
In Ronald Bracey opinion, a British psychologist
expert in male sexual difficulties,
these results are not so surprisingly. For this expert, in fact, when men are
in their 30s and 40s they are over stressed by success and career problems to
have time to think about sex in a good and relaxed way. When they're over 50,
on the other hand, usually they have already obtained what they wanted from
life. They’re also likely to give not as much importance to what other people
think and are less often victims of anxiety. All this help them to enjoy their
life, even in a sexual way.
