Get a load of the gossip I've got! Gianna Nannini has revealed that Sharon Stone wanted her for a part in Basic Instinct
2. It all started in January 2005 when Sharon looked through a magazine with photos of our Nannini and got the idea. Gianna then explains: "A little while after I got an e-mail from Hollywood. I thought it was a hallucination, not only because of that but because I'm anything but an actress. The very idea of Hollywood made me laugh. But there's something in the title of the new film, Basic Instinct 2 - Risk Addiction, an addiction to danger, that's in my veins and in my philosophy of life. When the script arrived I wasn't dazzled by it. But when the person that wanted me, with such a strong determination, was someone like Sharon Stone, I couldn't help being curious.I play the part of one of Sharon's friends, there's a scene where I have to sing and play the guitar. I was in London at the time and decided to do a screen test. I learnt the part in English and presented myself in a rundown, cream-coloured office in the area of Soho. I felt an emotion that I'm unfamiliar with, completely the opposite to when I sing, something that I couldn't feel beating, an unease brought on by a muted heartbeat. I didn't feel myself at all. The scene I had to shoot was built around the seduction: I had to be sleazy with both Sharon and her male co-star. At that point I thought they really must have got the wrong person. With a final burst of energy I finished the scene. They were all sweet and kind, they gave me so many compliments. I went out into the smoky streets of London and felt flushed all over. Just like that, I finished making a film."
And my dear Gianna, I think you've done decidedly well...
