Why do people from other countries are hoping to settle and remain here in Japan? Why do foreigners, particularly Filipinos` still stay here even if they're visas` were ended? This is a short story about the foreign community who are the bread winners of their own families. I am a Japanese girl who have stayed in the Philippines for almost 12 years, I’ve studied there and initially met distinct kind of people; I mean their level in life like rich and poor people. Those rich personalities that I have met would simply wanted to visit a lot of countries around the world, and that issimply because, you know, they have a lot of money...and they don’t know how to or where to use it. On the other hand, families and people who are suffering because of the poverty wishing and praying to stay in foreign countries especially here in Japan because of money. A lot of them are waiting for the opportunity to have a work here because of reasons; to feed their families, to send money for their child’s education, to start a new business in the Philippines. These poor people are really pity; that we Japanese would also want to volunteer to help these people, but a lot of Japanese do not trust Filipinos anymore. Maybe this is because of the called “TNT” Filipinos. “TNT” Filipinos or overstay Filipinos are “crashing” the trust of Japanese people to Filipinos`, I was just wondering why Filipinos can’t renew their visa or permit to stay here in Japan? Why do they have to be “TNT” although they know that being overstay is an exemption to the rule of Japan? As I grew up and build my mind as a “大人” or as an adult, there are things that little by little are developing on my mind, and one of that is about these Filipinos. When I was young, I thought that Filipinos are a good citizen than Japanese people, but as I grew up, there are things that are really unbelievable that’s showing to me about these Filipinos like; they can’t handle the promise they’ve made to themselves and to the families that they’ve left in their own country. One example for that is what we called in Japanese as “浮気” or being unfaithful to their husbands` or wives`. I can’t tell you the exact reason why Filipinos where doing such things like that (being unfaithful)…but one reason that I can see is the loneliness of being alone here or whatsoever. Do you think it is fair for their family? The ministry of Japan should hardly make their moves stricter about these foreigners who are overstaying here in Japan. They should strongly consider too about the Japanese and other citizens who are working and paying taxes fairly to feed those poor and elderly people. They should think about it; not only those Filipinos but also the other foreigners who are overstaying here in Japan such as Koreans, Arabs, and etc. And for those who are overstaying here in Japan, I just wanted to say that there is no wrong if you will all renew your permits or visas` here…besides it will be more helpful for you and for all of your distant families`, isn't it?
