INSOMNIA
Insomnia is a medical condition in which one has difficulties in sleeping.
CAUSES OF INSOMNIA.
Health problem: this has to do with the state of health of a person. In some cases, sleeplessness could be a symptoms of one kind of disease or the other in a person. These include hormonal changes in women, allergies, arthritis, asthma, heart diseases, high blood pressure, hyperthyroidism and Parkinson’s disease. Sleeplessness also runs in some family. Psychotic problem: people who have mental problem, like depression (especially if it is acute), often find it difficult to sleep. Behavioral insomnia: behavioural insomnia occurs when the daily activities of the person or what the person does before going to bed creates a pattern. Examples include eating in the night, walking around the house, watching the television, doing domestic chores and so on. Drug abuse: drug abuse and consumption of hard drugs can prevent adequate sleep. Environmental factors: dirty or stinking environment, or one that is pervaded by insecurity, can cause insomnia. Psychological problem: events in one’s life and relationship can cause sleep disorder, stress and anxiety can equally cause it. Caffeine and alcohol: while caffeine is good when used moderately, excessive use of it can affect one’s sleep. Alcohol can also impact negatively on one ability to sleep.
