DPR foils illegal peddling of diesels

Newspaper Review by: sesan gee

Some oil tankers have been order to be impounded by the officials of the department petroleum resource. The officials inspect
some of the filling stations in Lagos and accidentally came across a group of men manually transferring petroleum product from, one truck to another I using a hose. The DPR noted that beside the fact that only kerosene was permit to be transferred in such manner, this peddler does not have licenses or peddlers permit for kerosene. The official further noted, that it was becoming more rampant for some operator to obtained permit for kerosene, but use it for petrol or diesel and it was prevalent in some area.
In preventing environmental hazards and risk of products contamination, the DRC prohibit the peddling of petroleum and diesel.
The DPR are taken drastically measure in eliminating such malpractices, adding that culprits will be penalized while calling on security operative to apprehend any one found engaging in such malpractices
Meanwhile the DPR has warn filling stations to ensure that their product price list be conspicuously placed where it could be easily sited, and must be effective.
The DPR give the directive when it inspected retail operation in some Outlet, “the inspection which involve pump operations and calibration, as well as other environmental and safety requirements”
At the end of inspection of the outlet, some have their pumps sealed due to incompliance the regulatory standards while others are been commended for their compliance with the regulatory body. Environmental hazard has cost millions of life and property in the country, that’s why DPR has to take an extreme measure in curving illegal malpractices of fossil fuel in the country.
