The Nigerian lower legislative house earlier in the year set up a panel to look into projects executed by the last administration.
The panel headed by Mr.Elumelu (a member of the house) has so far unraveled a lot. Particularly the in the area of contract awards.
It revealed violations in the the contract award process, otherwise known as due process (a process of scrutiny by various agencies and ministries). which ironically the last administration was a champion of .
This has gone further to prove that the country still lacks leaders with integrity. According to one senator Mamman Danmusa, the ongoing probe is an indication, that it is time for past corrupt leaders of the country to pay for their sins.
But, the question on the lips of many Nigerians is: will the perpetrators of this crimes be brought to book by the panel? or will it be like similar probe panels in the past which only barked, but could not bite after opening cans of worms.
