PROSPERITY
MESSAGE, POVERTY AND THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST
When next you attend a church service in your locality,listen,observe
and look-the latest
trend of messages ,prayers,songs and Amens.You would have noticed a
common tren that have infected the entire christiandom.Hardly do you
hear sermons of salvation of the souls anymore.
It's
prosperity,breakthroughsand miracles.It disturbing and baffling the rate at which
"prosperity,miracles nad breakthrough messages are preached at the
detriment of soul winning for christ which is the injunction Our lord
Jesus Christ gave to us before he asse
ended into heaven.Most frightening is the rate
poverty is spreading like an harmmattan
wild fire within the ranks and file of humans,despite sporadic growth
of churches.It is even more puzzling to see millions attendees at this
crusade organise by hte churches
which 90% are there for financial breakthroughs and not for salvation.
But the question remains,why have the church
in total abandonment left out the messages of salvation.Where are they
leading us to?.If prosperity should be the sole meassage now ,i wonder
what theyn make up of a statement that"seek yee first the kingdom of
God and every other thing shall be added unto you".Is it hat christians
no
longer read the bible.As a christian in the book of Joshua1:8 you are
expected to make your bible a compannion.But if not you perish for lack
of knowlegde.However,
the irony is that in the midst of this desperations,the pastors are smiling to the banks
everyday,travelling abroad isn now a leisure,while their congregation congregate to
fund their expences.
Don't mis-read me ,i'm not against the message of prosperity,but the wrecklessnes
at whichthey are spread to corrupt the minds of innocent beleivers who for ignorance
have followed foreign doctrines.What then is prosperity and why should i prosper and
how should the message be preached.In my own humble opinnion,prosperity
is and all encompassing text which goes beyond materialism.It involves
most especially your spiritual growth,holiness and righteousness .What
is happening is not new as our
Lord Jesus Christ have forewarned us of this time,men shall be lovers of money and
material things.so the script playing out it self should not caught any steadfast believe
r unaware.The pastors who should know have become spiritual contractors.Brethren i
wish you above all things that you prosper even as your souls prospereth and be in good health.
Some pastors outb of
sheer greed have ommited "your souls prospereth" to mean to materialism
for ones soul to have pleasure in serving God.The time we are in is a
perilous time those who must worship God must do so in spirit and in
truth not money and materialism.The message that poverty is a curse is
not out of context,but,
why then is so much poverty in the land despite the breakthrough crusades and meeti
ngs.My people perish for lack of knowlegde,and who gives knowledge and
understaning it is the holy spirit.If we prosper spiritually the holy
spirit will give us understanding and wisdom of the will of god for our
lives,provided we live according
to his command which he set before us.And his promise,"that in blessing
he shall bless us and in multiplying he will multiply us will
definitely be our portion.Amen
In breaking the yolke of
poverty,pastors should note that the church is the house of prayer and
not supper markets for selling annointing oils.I dare say that some are
called but few are chosen.How then can we claim our status on the sight of God,quite
simple,seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness then every other thing shall
be supplied by your God according to his riches in glory.Search the word and know
the truth and it shall set you free from the bondage of poverty.If Jesus is for you who then can be against you.
Let us fight poverty with everything at our disposal,for
believers wwe should be weary of judastic pastors out to devour instead
of empowering you to be a wealth and
job creator.Churches should organise seminars on waelth creations.Finally,pastors
should think more of SALVATION OF SOULS FOR HE THAT WINNETH SOULS IS WISE.
