CONGRATULATIONS NIGERIA
The outcome of the elections petition tribunal sitting in Abuja (Nigeria) has been described by the
Vice President and many other well wishing Nigerians as a victory for all Nigerians and
Democracy in Nigeria. In an interview with the press, the Vice President said that the
judgment is not a question of whether the President and he won but the most important thing is that Nigerians have won. The outcome of the judgment will be peace, stability and good governance, as it is the first transition from one civilian President to another in the history of Nigeria.
The Oyo
state governor, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala also saw the judgment as a victory for all. He went further to state that the landmark judgment was a proof and eloquent testimony that judicial battle is not meant for the pages of news papers but facts and evidence as provided by legal counsels in judiciary.
In his own view the Osun state Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola lauded the
verdict as he congratulate the President and his Vice and he said that the judgment had deepened democracy in Nigeria. He stated further that the verdict shows that propaganther cannot give victory to a party that does not merit it.
Nigeria has a responsible and stable judiciary, this statement is credited to the
governor of Ekiti state, Mr Segun Oni in his reaction to the judgment of the outcome of the election petitions tribunal. The verdict was celebrated widely in Ekiti state, Dr. Sikiru Tae Lawal Lead the Peoples Democratic Party supporters in a dance round the state capital in celebration.
The governor of Enugu Sate in his congratulatory message to the President and his vice said that through the judgment, the judiciary has shown that it was the bastion of democracy in our country. It is a confirmation of the mandate given to the President by Nigerians. He urged all Nigerians and the
petitioners to join hands with the president in sustaining democracy and actualization of his vision as to making Nigeria one of the most developed economy in 2020.
In contrast the petitioners Buhari and Atiku were not satisfied with the verdict as they head straight for the Supreme Court. The president enjoined them to accept the defeat in good faith, the petitioners said the ruling was semi final and that the final will be at the supreme court.
