The Green Is in Peril

Article Summary by: Margery

Original Author: Margery
I've just read Gordon Brown's Speech entitled 'WE MUST ACT NOW' from the Newsweek magazine. I think it's British.
He
said that the world will assemble in 11 weeks, under the support of United Nations. They will talk about stopping global warming and recession. As you can scrutinize and observe, the climate has dramatically changed over the years.
Typhoon 'Ondoy' had just left the Philippines currently on its way to Vietnam and this also called ' Tropical Storm Ketsana' had deeply terrorized our country. Many lives were lost, properties were destroyed, families were wiped out, and this means a humongous dilemma for the Arroyo administration to fix. In addition to that, another typhoon is about to come on Thursday! After having a house flooded 10 kilometers away, a roof 5 kilometers away, a body which is 1 mile away, more Filipinos will be devastated by these natural calamities. Others blame the La Mesa Dam for their losses because it released loads of water. My mother told me that if Laguna de Bay would flood up; it would also have destroyed our home in Cavite. Our house is just near the creek where the water flows from the upper part.
Quote: "Failure is unforgivable."
This failure refers to the agreement that will be decided by the nations around the world concerning the greatest threats that would lead to the extinction of human beings. It was very well-said.
Tempering the tranquility of our once purely green environment has erupted in many crises. Likewise, we must be responsible for our actions.
