The Summer Edition of Poetry News from The Poetry Society London has a compilation album concept in as much as it fronts
with "The Hamish Canham Poetry Prize" and features Gil Learner who began writing poetry in 2001 after winning membership of the Poetry Societ in a competition by Independent .... amazing and shot to fame without further delay.
The whole of Poetry News is devoted to its great success as a Newsletter produced by the Poetry Society and even the Members Poems are winners only .. looks like they have to win to enter the free competions for the annual fee but I am sure for their winners its worth every penny.
I must admit though by the end I found the whole scheme of things a trifle over-organized and found a link line re Jeremy Paxman a bit of light relief at the end. I note the passing, - and offer condolences to the Man who Made the Decisions on National Poetry CompetitionWinners .. EA Markham distinguished poet and Professor of Creative Writing and a judge for the National Poetry Competition in 2008: So those whom Professor EA Markham nominated and "won" will be sad at his passing and miss his great contribution ... herein the news from Poetry News.
