BABY girl and her young mum have been found slashed to death by a jealous lover. They were discovered with their throats cut at a
council flat with the man also dead from knife wounds. The 29-year-old mother, known as Maggie, is believed to have fled Ireland to escape her Algerian-born boyfriend, 49, after their
relationship broke down. But he is thought to have pursued her to win her back and neighbours reported a series of fierce rows. A Scotland Yard source said: "Officers were confronted with the nightmare scene of a little baby and her
mother stabbed to death with throat wounds and a man lying dead in the next room." The cops
believe the killings took place a week ago and they are examining a knife found in the flat, which they believe is the murder weapon. They believe the baby and her mother were murdered by the partner who then killed himself. Maggie and her
boyfriend were living in Dublin, but when the relationship collapsed she decided to move to England. She and four-month-old Kerry-Anne arrived in London two months ago and were given a council flat in Bow, East London. The alarm was raised on Monday afternoon by social workers from Tower Hamlets Council during a routine visit. They called police when neighbours said they had not seen Maggie and Kerry-Anne for a week. One resident said yesterday: "She was a lovely girl. She never went anywhere without Kerry-Anne. A neighbour said that he was not a good sort. He used to come knocking on doors asking for cash. He'd say it was for the meter and the baby was crying, but the neighbour knew he wanted the money for himself. Another neighbour Amanda Gunnell claimed Maggie had fallen out with her family over her relationship with the boyfriend and that Maggie was from a good family and they disapproved of the relationship. Councillor Mohammed Mumin said he had offered to help Maggie while she waited to be rehoused. He said she was very distressed.
