In this extract from JM Coetzee''s latest novel, an eminent, elderly
writer is compiling short
essays on
political themes. Simultaneously, he scribbles down his feelings for a young and beautiful neighbour
This was what The Guardian told to its readers about the new
novel by J M Coetzee. Since last three bouts of writing his novels, the master writer, Nobel Prize winner, Mr. Coetzee has not spared any effort to maintain his title of an experimentalist.
In his Diary of Diary of A Bad Year he writes political essays and fills the gap between the paragraphs with cool showers of novel-like chapters. Read it and enjoy the same. And yes, be ready to reread the same, too, as Coetzee can not be swallowed within one gulp.
