Guardian readers note that
today is Tuesday and the line is the
same for one and all.
What are we all going to do when we are forced to give up
worklive with no
money!! Write poetry, plays, scripts, and business
studies manuals for the population at large I guess.
Today The secrets of Saint Tim discuss the life of an experienced
teacher: professor and High flying executive who is now 67 years
old and is retiring ...as London
tsar ... a joke I''m sure at
Tim''s expense!
Tim Brighouse has had moments of melacholy and madness
but has sauntered through all of this to reach this golden
plateau upon which he now stands. Initially I thought it
was another pep talk to his fellow professionals about
how to behave in
retirement. Such as, always agree to
do all the rotten work at the local Church and stop
complainng if the clergy have a lock out ... do all
the translations in public galleries without a momentary
complaint .. we ready to cough up real money for any
man boy woman or child on your doorstep with yet
another free offer costing you fifty pounds a day.
Brigman''s career has spanned 3 decades and he has
touched down on some very famous London boroughs
including Hackney where I taught as well ! I wonder
if he remembers me!
Happy retirement Tsar Tim! Excellent reading in today''s
Guardian, and Happy 65th
Birthday to Barbra Streisand
as she is listed in today''s birthdays ... she is the same
age as Our retiree!
