Off for the weekend to my book signing of my book of
poetry ROCK ME
published in America by Publishamerica Baltimore MD., USA yesterday ..
7 September 07 at 3 pm at Poetry Cafe Covent Garden in London ...
I stayed overnight at Express Holiday Inn ... one of the hotels from that chain and I am a club member of the priority club ... I got my copy of The Independent which was a piece of
cake to read over breakfast were it not for the sad tale of Madeleine McCann and her
strange parents ... apparently their daughter has disappeared and they frequently visit famous people to help them find her ... give press conferences ... and as the media
pointed out ... their behaviour is very odd ... someone suggested that they might be
held "under suspicion" re murder of their daughter ... the Independent shows a picture
of Madeleine''s mother looking very smartly dressed and not at all the grieving parent of a missing child ... but thats the press talking ...
Pavarotti is featured in the main section and they came from across the world to
pay their last respects to the
great Pavarotti who died at 71 from cancer ...
Pavarotti is survived by 2 wives and 4 daughters ... who attended his funeral
in his home country of Italy. Also at the funeral in person was Bono from the
U2 group who was a great friend of Pavarotti ... I listened to a Radio 3 Tribute
on BBC a few days ago ... and Pavarotti brought Opera to the masses and
Opera as a result of Pavarotti''s singing became "popular
culture" ...
We are doing the same for poetry ... poetry is popular culture and is brought to
the masses also ...
The new Saab 9-3 ... great car on the road ... I used to
drive a Saab in the
United States of America ... and a great little car it was to drive and took
the hills of and surrounding San Francisco without any trouble at all.
The moths of Britain and Ireland are featured too in Saturday''s Independent ... I like the look of the
moth on the newspaper but I hate it when they float in through an open window and attach themselves to your only
light bulb and stick there for months because its impossible to get the fluffy dead moth off the light bulb ... a bit of light dusting is required I suppose time permitting ..

Melting icecaps are triggering off earthquakes ... according to the news from
the Independent ... its just another story on the planet on which we live which
existed millions of years before we arrived on it ... so will presumably exist
for millions of years after we leave it .... one man''s meat is another man''s poison ... what you believe ... I deny and so on.
