The Times is one of the more "grown up" newspapers in England and don''t sensationalise each and every news item that contains the Royal Family unlike some of the red top papers.
But today it carries a
double page spread of what Diana Princes of Wales'' butler "saw". Sorry for the bad pun there. Diana tragicaly died over 10 years ago in Paris whilst she was chased by the world''s media desperate for a picture of her. The Times, which like all papers, reports on such goings on also now seems to wish to make a big song and dance about Paul Burrels statements. The main ones being that he wished to marry the Doctor that she had previously being seeing and also that she was just with Dodi Fayed to get back at him.
I''m sorry but to me this does not make for a double page spread. It is a tragic event and the
inquest was bound to get media attention but to have
statements like that made into double page spreads and also have it own section devoted to the inquest on the website is utter nonsence.
You have to dig deeper for the trial of Steve Wright who is accused of killing 5 women last year. Also the cash wasted on the olympic games is getting pushed into smaller sections. Does each and every detail of the Diana inquest have to be reported in such details in the newspapers. What Diana''s mother
thought of her should''t be splashed over the papers. Both ladies are dead and can''t defend the statements being made. 10 years people let''s move on. I had thought The Times wouldn''t jump on the bandwagon reporting on this in such depth but they have.
Tomorrow I may pick up a different paper!
