By:  Tommy Elder, Jr.

In a cross party spat-  President George W. Bush castigated Democratic Presidential contenders New York Senator Hillary Clinton and Illinois Senator Barack Obama on Iraq and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).  William Douglas and Renee Schoof of
McClatchy Newspapers wrote that President Bush in an obvious reference to Illinois Senator Barack Obama said-  `What`s lost by embracing a tyrant who put his people in prison because of their political beliefs?  What`s lost is it will send the wrong message.`  He continued-  `It will send a discouraging message to those who wonder whether America will continue to work for the freedom of prisoners.  It will give great status to those who have suppressed human rights and dignity.` Mr. Bush noted that-  `Sitting down at the table, having your picture taken with a tyrant such as Raul Castro, for example, lends the status of the office and the status of our country to him.`
By contrast, President Bush plans to travel to travel to the Olympic Games in Beijing, China this August.  On China, President George W. Bush emphasised the importance of contacts between nations and stated that he frequently conversed with Chinese President Hu Jintao- `about religious freedom and the importance of China`s society recognizing that if you`ve allowed to worship freely, it will benefit society as a whole.`
During his address-  Mr. Bush castigated Democratic Party Presidential contenders Illinois Senator Barack Obama and New York Senator Hillary Clinton for slaming the North American Free Trade Agreement.  As a point of reference-  some unemployed people blame this trade bill for-  ``the loss of American jobs to Mexico and Canada.``
