I really don't know much about the man Barack Obama but with the few things i have read and seen on the tv concerning the race for the primary presidential ticket of the Democratic party i really am happy as a black man to see that a young black african can actually give a good account of himself in such a very tight race.
I actually remember the period of the Stateman-Reverend Jesse Jackson campaign in 1984 an 1988 that many people never gave him a chance during this period ,most especially people in Africa, we firmly believe that no black can win the presidential race in the united state due to the colour of the skin, but we whereproven wrong when the man actually regarded as a fringe candidate came third in 1984 it was an amazing fit.In 1988 he proved himself further by winning over 6 million votes,he narrowly lost the race to Senator Michael Dukakis.
Another African American is towing the footsteps of the good reverend and it is a thing of joy to me considering the facts that he has proven himself so far in the race and also the fact the the American white folks are now showing themself as being non-racial,and that the United State of America is a country that is ready to prove to the whole world that you can be what ever you want to be as long as you are doing it within the law and that you also have what the American people want.
Obama said recently that "When they see my track record and the work that I have done on behalf of people who really need help, I have absolute confidence that they can rally behind my campaign," i really believe that he has done well, what i am now worried about is the latest commentary by political analyse that the race between Hilary Clinton and Obama may be giving Senator Mclain some sort of leverage they claim that:
"There is great concern among Democratic insiders that the Democratic contest has really resuscitated Republican prospects for November, that the contest has gone on too long, it has been too personal, it has created a deep division within the party and within party constituencies, and that it has become a real problem,"
I really therefore hope and pray that the democratic primaries will be concluded on time so as to face the major contest against the republican.
I will really be happy if Obama can actually get the ticket and i believe that the American voters are wise and will let the best candidate become the president.
