Husband the Subject of An Investigation
In an
Investigation of alleged impropriety in the Atlanta Airport Concession operations- the name of Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin`s former husband surfaced. Based on an account written by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution`s Jim Tharpe- the probe involves a major drug smuggling operation out of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. Currently, Jeffrey B. Norman, the compliance manager of Atlanta`s Department of law indicated that he will corrdinate with Federal authorities, who open a criminal investigation of the matter that uncovered the name of Mayor Shirley Franklin former husband David Franklin. According to Mr. Norman -a convicted drug dealer contends that ``money was
laundered through Franklin & Wilson Airport Concessions Inc. and its Hartsfield- Jackson International Airport businesses. Last month in a sentencing phase involving Mayor Franklin`s former son-in-law Tremayne Graham-who divorced the mayor`s daugher Kai Franklin twenty years ago- he denied ``that money was laundered through Franklin & Wilson Airport Concessions Inc. at its Hartsfield Jackson International Airport businesses.``
