The article
write Marc Kaufman in the
Washington Post from Turkish digest poses the constant threat of arguement and conflict in relation to
Creationism and does Islam and the Muslim World accept it. According to the leading teachers and academic professors in Turkey's University of Marmara the answer is a clear "no!" as it conflicts with the Holy Book of the Muslims .. The Koran . which like the Christian Bible states that God Created the Earth and everything in it!
But when questioned these wise Professors and teachers tell their students scientific facts biological and scientific and see the link is made clear betwen Attaturk's notions and those of Modern Turkey where Attaturk believed in a Scientific Education for Turkey.
When I was in Istanbul there was plenty of evidence of modern freeways and technology supporting a modern lifestyle but I often pondered. privately as I did last year in my Turkish Hotel Room what Muslims get up to when they pray 5 times a day at the Mosque ... does anybody do a day's work at all!
However I stray a little ..... when I taught in Turkey I did a lot of work and so did my students but mostly the focus was Literature, Language Theatre and Artforms! Plus of course writing, writers and plays, poems and novels ..... thanks Washington Post .. I am ensuring this time round I include Science, Biology, Creationism and Secularism in this summary .. nice work!
