Mode of action:
Laxative. Reduces the absorption of electrolytes and water, increases peristalsis. The active form of the drug, which is formed by hydrolysis under the influence of intestinal microorganisms directly stimulates the nerve structure of the intestinal wall, resulting in accelerated progress of intestinal contents. The action comes after 10-12 h after administration.
Indications:
Atonic constipation. Regulation of the chair (hemorrhoids, proctitis, anal fissures). Preparing for surgery, instrumentation and radiological investigations.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity, intestinal obstruction, incarcerated hernia, acute inflammatory diseases of the abdominal cavity, peritonitis, abdominal pain (unknown origin), severe dehydration, bleeding from the gastrointestinal tract, metrorrhagia, cystitis, spastic constipation, children's age (up to 4 years), pregnancy (I trimester). Side effects:
Diarrhea, abdominal pain, dehydration, disruption of water and electrolyte balance, weakness, cramps, blood pressure reduction.
Dosage and administration:

Cautions:

Interaction:
SCS, diuretics increase the risk of electrolyte disturbances. Broad-spectrum antibiotics reduces the laxative effect. Possible increase in sensitivity to cardiac glycosides.
