Brother Wins in Court Against Providers of Compatible Ink Cartridges

Brother has prevailed before the District Court of Düsseldorf in the dispute about compatible ink cartridges in two main procedures. The losing parties are the Pelikan mbH & Co. KG and the German Hardcopy AG (Geha), both of which sell ink cartridges for Brother machines.
The judgments relate only to specific, marketed by Pelikan and Geha cartridges, for which was found to infringe the intellectual property of Brothers. The dispute as to smolder for some time. Brother had in June 2008 sent warning letters to four companies to sell their devices compatible ink cartridges.
