Abstract:  Mobile communications by Ling is an excellent introductory book for all those professionals who are directly or indirectly involved with mobile communication and its application on life of common person.. Today’s life style of billions of people the world over has been rapidly changing with fast growth of mobile communications. It is communication from anywhere to anywhere at any time and at a very affordable cost. This is much different than other types of interaction among people like e-mail, instant messaging, Wi-Fi, landline telephone call. This unique form of communication is most flexible with handy input/output devices like cell phone. Consequently it is influencing the social live , productivity , responsiveness.
 
The author has explained in a very simple language how mobile communication has impacted our society. This book will be a useful reading material to any researcher or professional who is exploring the use of emerging technologies for improving quality of life through faster interaction among people. It provides the reader with a broad knowledge of how mobile communication is reformulating the social sphere as it has improved our response to various situations. Mobile communication like cellular phone provides instant communication among people of all walks of life. People can communicate on the move, from office, from home and there physical location is not of much significance
