There is obvious selfish departmentalism in the recognition of national security interest.As a concept, national security interest is part of national interests of existence, which concerns sovereign independence, territorial integrity, stability of the basic system, national unity, economic prosperity and so on. At present and for a period in the future, Chinas national security interests mainly contain the following: sovereign independence, territorial integrity and unity of the country; maintenance of the basic system and ideology; fighting against national and religious splittism and ensuring national concord; maintaining economic security. Chinas national security interests are mainly distributed in the Asia-pacific region, including traditional security interests and new ones which are becoming more and more outstanding. The main part is made up of political, military and economic security interests. Political security interests mainly include political and national stability, unity of the country, etc. Military security interests contain territorial integrity, protection against military threats and so on. Economic security interests involve financial security, foreign capital, good investment environment and the security of power resources, overseas markets, sea transport lines, etc.
