Objective To establish the mouse model of Lewis lung
carcinoma and detect the carcinoma inhibiting rate of
Weimaining.
Methods The flow cytometry and immunohistochemical staining were used to investigate the effects of
Weimaining on the cell cycle of
carcinoma and the expression of cyclin D1 in the model mice. Results It was showed that the carcinoma inhibiting rates of Weimaining were 19 14%, 33 59%, 40 63% and 51 56%, respectively when it was given at the doses of 100 mg/kg/d, 150 mg/kg/d, 200 mg/kg/d and 250 mg/kg/d, respectively to the model mice, and the effects were exerted in a dose dependent manner. Weimaining could halt the growth of the carcinoma cells in the G 0-G 1 phase and decrease the expression of cyclin D 1 ( P <0 01). Conclusion One of the Lewis lung carcinoma inhibiting mechanisms of Weimaining may be decreasing the expression of cyclin D 1 in the carcinoma cells and halting the growth of the carcinoma cells in the G 0-G 1 phase, and hence, making them unable to develop into the S phase for DNA replication.
